From a young age Herman Doty has followed a family tradition of Blacksmithing. He uses tools and equipment handed down from his great grandfather.
Working in the vocational trades all his life which included mechanical, electrical, and fabrication experience everything from being on the crew of a professional off road raceway team, Sign and Graphics Industry, to supporting high temperatures testing at a General Motors Proving Ground in Arizona for over 10 years.
Herman continues to expand his skills and has found his home in Rockaway Beach, Oregon and his passion in metal art.
At the age of 24 Herman found himself fighting for his life in a battle with cancer. His passions and trade skills helped him through those struggles and led him to where he is at today.
Along with creating wonderful works of arts and pratical metal designs Herman has found a reward in introducing others to the ancient art of Blacksmithing and metal in hopes of passing his skills and talents to other people especially younger people who are looking for practical skills outside of college curriculum.
